Classic Hummus

Classic Hummus, this truly is the most delicious and easy-to-make recipe in the world. Throw everything into the blender and voilà! Use it for a sandwich spread, a dip for raw veggies, or a spread for just plain old pitas. It’s a great source of plant-based protein that even kids love.

Makes about 2 cups

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups cooked organic garbanzo beans
  • ½ cup tahini
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled
  • ½ cup fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ cup water
  • ¾ teaspoon Himalayan pink salt
  • Pepper to taste

Suggested toppings

  • Paprika
  • Parsley sprigs
  • Toasted pine nuts
  • Drizzle of olive oil

Directions:

1. Put all of the ingredients into a food processor or blender and mix until smooth, stopping to scrape down the sides with a spatula as needed. This may need several rounds of processing to get smooth.
2. Top with paprika, parsley, toasted pine nuts, and a drizzle of olive oil, and you will have a beautiful side.
