Island Glass and Mirror is a local favorite when it comes to everything glass, founded in 2014 by Matthew Thomas. As a Fernandina Beach native it was just a natural spot to open this business and with the support of our local community the business continues to grow. Glass is apart of our daily lives and it goes beyond windows glass has become design features in bathrooms, walls, doors – well just about anything you can think of. Changing a shower door can turn a dated bathroom to a show-stopper. A new trend is the “barn door” or Euroslider for a shower, I saw this recently and thought I just have to have that! It was different, saved space and I just LOVED it!

Another trend I recently saw on Island Glass and Mirror’s Facebook page was antiquing new mirrors, I for one love antiques and mirrors so I was intrigued. The process is part technique and part art, combining a “special secret” chemical on the mirror to create an old look. With so many possibilities it’s no wonder that clients are putting these one of a kind pieces in their homes.
