From wide sandy shorelines to laid-back island towns, there are several dog-friendly beaches in Northeast Florida where you and your pup can enjoy the coast together.

1. Jacksonville Beach (Designated Dog Access Areas)

Jacksonville Beach allows dogs in specific areas and during certain hours, making it one of the most accessible dog-friendly beaches in Jacksonville, Florida.

What to know:

  • Dogs must be leashed

  • Allowed during limited hours (typically early mornings and evenings)

  • Great for long walks and exercise

Local tip: Early mornings are best for cooler sand, fewer crowds, and happier pups.

This has been one of my favorite parks in Jacksonville to take my dogs.  Hanna Park is centrally located and easy to get to. Leashed dogs are welcome on the beach in Hanna Park year round. There is a 2 dog limit  all pets must be on their best pawfect behavior.
