Mixing it up with Pumpkins
For years Pumpkins have been a staple for the fall with so many ways to use them. Who doesn’t love picking out the perfect pumpkin for your Halloween themed design. We are going to see 3 creative ways to use pumpkins this year in your design from Halloween through Thanksgiving.
Go Floral with your Pumpkin Design
Pumpkins can make an ideal vase for seasonal florals. Simply hollow out the gourd, let it dry, place a vase inside, and fill it with your favorite flowers.
I did this last year with our local women’s gardening club and was given a whole new way of looking at gourds, the choices are endless.
They can either be used as a table centerpiece or placed outside to greet guests. Pro-tip – be sure to keep them in the fridge until your ready to display and best if made only days before you want to use them.
There are some great resources out there to use for inspiration, one of my favorites is Garden Therapy
Forget the Orange
Say goodbye to traditional orange pumpkins, and hello to elegant white or speckled pumpkins. Placing these adorable gourds throughout the house will be a welcomed change. You can even decorate them with metallic-colored paint and a dusting of glitter—so chic!
This is one idea I’m trying this season, making a pumpkin with bling is right up my alley.
String them along
Do you have a fireplace mantel or dining room hutch that is dying for some fall decorating? Use mini pumpkins, twine and some fall leaves to create a pumpkin garland. So festive and so easy.
