Local Restaurant of the Week - The Beech Street Grill
I love to feature local businesses and this weeks happens to be a historic restaurant on Fernandina Beach.
The Beech Street Grill History
Some of the most interesting things always have a little history and The Beech Street Grill is no exception.
This historical home was built in 1889 and fondly referred to as The William Bell House. Originally built as a wedding gift to his wife, the home was unique with it’s double veranda’s and bay windows. She sit’s proudly on the corner of Beech Street and 8th street.
William Bell was a successful river piolet who settled on Amelia Island after the Civil War.
The home has maintained it’s history and charm with original fireplace mantles and surrounds that still remain inside The Beech Street Grill.
Giving Birth to The Beech Street Grill
The Beech Street Grill has had several lives but the current one has been a revitalization of loved restaurant in Fernandina Beach Florida. In 2021 the doors were re-opened with a reimagined menu and ownership. The menu is expansive with fabulous wines, craft cocktails and a new take on Southern favorites that feature fresh seafood, local produce and impeccable detail on every plate.
