Last week I took my husband to Alloro for his birthday – he loves pasta and I had heard good things about this new restaurant.  Alloro filled the spot where Island Kitchen used to be right on 3rd Street, still the same welcoming feel but with a whole new vibe.  As a music lover the first thing I noticed was the music – it alone made you feel like you were somewhere other than a beach town.  The staff was attentive and knowledgeable – off to a good start!  The wine menu although not huge was perfectly paired with the menu.

Authentic Sicilian made in-house daily and you can taste the difference. I’m not sure I had ever had authentic pasta, this pasta was special and I’m not a pasta fan per say.

The menu was unique with dishes I’ve never seen anywhere else. We started with the bruschetta – WOW! Great flavor and it was beautifully plated. After a lot a back and forth I finally settled on the Pasta Al Pistachio and my husband had the Ragu Pasta.  Both were amazing, really amazing.

What a great addition to our local restaurant scene.  If you haven’t tried it yet they are open for lunch and dinner Tuesday – Saturday.

You can find them at allorobistrot@gmail.com | 904-917-7974

They do take reservations and I would recommend for Friday / Saturday nights.
